Why isTT 2017 Premier hiding my data file. Can't back up to Flash. I CAN find all previous years. Is it being stored OnLine?

I assume you are using the Desktop Premier  installed on your computer?  There have been other reports of not saving.  What happens?  Can you go to FILE - SAVE AS and see or tell it where to save it?  Normally your tax return is saved ending with .tax2017 and should be under your Documents then in a Turbo Tax folder.  Or search your computer for all files ending in .tax or .tax2017 to find it.  And check the Recycle Bin.   You should be able to copy it from the Turbo Tax directory to the flash drive.

One Windows 10 user found it was because of Windows Defender.

You assumed correctly. I gave windows a chance to search my entire computer to find the file "2017 Name initial ... tax2017" but it failed. Your clue of "save as" led me in the right direction. Found file in D:/Desktop. Why, I dont know. All other years it was in Documents. THANKS

Did you maybe recently upgrade to Windows 10 or do a big anniversary update?  I think that can move some files around.

No, not recently. Installed TT 2017 Premier after last major update. I'M sure it must be because I was running TT from the desktop. But now all is right with the world (as far as Q and TT are Concerned).
