Why is there no option to file for a previous year

A prior-year return cannot be prepared and  filed in Online TurboTax, which is currently only for 2025 returns.  For prior years, it requires desktop software for each particular year..  It has to be installed on a full computer, not a tablet.    The past-year return cannot be efiled with TurboTax.  It has to be printed, signed, dated, and mailed.

Sorry it's too,late to start a 2024 or prior online return or use the mobile app, either on Turbo Tax or the IRS.  And too late to efile.   If you need to do 2024 or prior you can buy the Desktop download here.  What year do you need?   They only sell the last 3 years.
