Colorado delayed accepting tax returns due in part to numerous pending changes brought on by a busy 2022 legislative session and required system maintenance.
Last November Coloradans voted to lower the income tax rate to 4.4%, which coupled with multiple legislative changes created a much larger end-of-year programming workload for the Department, resulting in a slight delay.
The Department of Revenue planned to accept and queue individual income tax returns by no later than Feb. 10,

Even when CO starts accepting returns it could be a week or more for them to accept all the returns that have been piled up so one must be patient while they play catch up.
