Why is it taking so long for them to review my tax return and never has taken this long before

I worked in the same place for the last three years I’ve always filed my taxes myself I’ve never had take so long to get review before

You mean after you submitted the Efile?   It's early, you will be waiting a while. Even though Turbo Tax will let you efile in early January the return will just sit at Turbo Tax until the IRS opens January 29, 2024. And you might get more tax forms in the mail you forgot about or weren't expecting. The employers and banks, etc don't have to mail the W2 and 1099 forms until Jan 31. That's why we say don't rush to file.

Which tax year are you referring to?

A tax year 2023 return that was e-filed will remain as Pending until the IRS starts receiving returns on January 29, 2024.
