Yes, the terms used are different.
When you e-file your return, it is Pending first. After a while it is either Accepted or Rejected.
Once you return is Accepted, the IRS has it, TurboTax is no longer involved, so there won't be any changes in TurboTax.
If you can see your refund on the IRS website, your return was accepted for e-file.
The IRS does various things in processing, mostly using computers to match your information to your W-2 forms, your spouse and dependents, etc.
When they are done, they approve your refund and post an estimated date for it to be issued.
Accepted in Turbo Tax only means the IRS verified some basic info on it so they know it's really from you. They accept it for processing. After it is Accepted the IRS processes it then Approves it before they send the refund.
