TurboTax (and your 2017 tax return) will always show the amount due, even 10 years from now. TurboTax does not keep track of your payments made to the IRS. Your TurboTax account will show a balance due until next year when it is time to do 2018 taxes. At that time, the meter will revert back to 0. However, next year, when you look at your history, it will still show a balance due for 2017 because that is what your 2017 tax result was. This is completely normal.
