Why doesn’t turbo reflect rule change permitting electronic fling of amended returns?

Recent IRS press release says electronic filing of amended returns now OK.  Why doesn’t your system reflect this change?

Why doesn’t turbo reflect rule change permitting electronic fling of amended returns?

Because TurboTax has not yet implemented this change in the software.  TurboTax is working on the release of the software to e-file a 2019 federal amended tax return, Form 1040X.  No date has yet been set for when this will be available.

Basically you're saying TurboTax doesn't support e-File of 1040-X because TurboTax doesn't support e-File of 1040-X.

It doesn't' support it YET ...  they have not YET completed the programming & testing needed to release that option for use.

Can I e-file my 1040X to amend my return?

Note: By the end of this week, you'll be able to e-file your amended tax return in TurboTax. We'll update this page with instructions to do such soon.

After you finish amending in TurboTax, we'll guide you through printing and mailing your 1040X along with any required attachments.

Three weeks after mailing your amendment, you can start tracking it at Where's My Amended Return? on IRS.gov.

Why doesn’t turbo reflect rule change permitting electronic fling of amended returns?

Is there an update to the string on this subject? I am trying to electronically file an amended 2019 form 1040 and all I get when I hit the "file" tab at top left is that the season closed 10/15/2020.

The string of comments was that Intuit was resolving this matter last August however I cannot seem to get it to work with the 2019 TurboTax Premiere software.

Can you help?

My understanding is that the IRS e-file has been closed for any e-file until the 2020 season opens which is today (Feb 12), and e-file for amended will resume on Feb 25.
