Why does Turbo Tax not make the cost of the service clear in advance?

I have completed my return and they are asking for a credit card without first telling me what the amount will be. Can't they be more transparent and honest?

In the File section on Step 1 you are given a complete view of the items that will be included in your payment.

Click on File on the left side of the online program screen.  On Step 1 click on Revisit

Not sure what you mean but when you use the online account the prices of each version of the program was clearly marked right above the button you had to push to choose the version you're using. If you started with the free version and had to upgrade along the way then the cost for the upgrade was again clearly marked way before you got to the end.
