Pending simply means that your e-filed return is on its way and that the government hasn't accepted or rejected it yet.
If you e-filed your return in January, it'll stay in Pending status until the IRS starts processing the backlog of returns.
After January, e-filed returns generally sit in Pending status for 24-48 hours before coming back as either Accepted or Rejected. Sometimes state returns stay in Pending for several days or even longer.
If you contact the government or try look up your refund status while your return is still pending, don't be surprised if they tell you "no record found." This is normal; until the government starts reviewing and processing your return, they won't have any record of it.
I was wondering what happened with your taxes because I’m in the same situation now
The IRS is still working on the backlog of returns that were waiting when they opened on Jan 27, 2020. Wait a couple days more.
The status could take longer than 48 hours until the IRS is able to clear out the backlog of returns from January. For more information on a "pending" return status, please click here. The IRS estimates that most refunds will be sent within 21 days after your e-filed returns are accepted. You can check the status of your refund by going to www.irs.gov/refunds. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS once they have accepted your return. Each state handles its own refunds
