What is the "it"? Are you referring to the TurboTax Tax Home?
If the status of your state return when looking at the Tax Home says "ready to mail", that means it has not been efiled. Did you try to efile but didn't go all the way to a screen with a big orange button that says "Transmit Return Now?"
It sounds like TurboTax thinks you planned to print and postal mail the return. If that's not what you wanted to do, then as long as you haven't already mailed it, you can go back into your return to the FILE section and change the filing method from mail to efile. Then proceed to fully transmit the return. If that's your situation and what you want do, then here's how:
NOTE: If you efiled the Federal return first, you can't efile the state return until after the Federal return has been accepted. If your Federal return was efiled and accepted previously, then here's how to go back in and efile the state return:
