Why didn't funds wire out on 4/18/2017 for my Fed and State tax payments. Money is still in my checking account - would have expected to seen in paid out per schedule.

I viewed my 1040 (PDF) and the routing info is masked ( X X X X X X X X X).  Is this for security?  Or was the routing info not captured / verified properly when I submitted my taxes in April 1st?

Why didn't funds wire out on 4/18/2017 for my Fed and State tax payments. Money is still in my checking account - would have expected to seen in paid out per schedule.

Your payment will not usually be not initiated until the return has been processed (states don't begin processing until after the federal return has been processed), however, both returns are considered timely paid, as long as submitted no later than April 18. 

You can also call IRS e-file Payment Services anytime at 1-888-353-4537 to verify your payment.

To verify the IRS or state payment information in TurboTax:

1.     Sign In to TurboTax

2.     Select "Taxes"

3.     Click "My Tax Timeline"

4.     Choose "Some things You can Do"

5.     Select "Download all forms and worksheets"

6.     Review Part V of the Federal Information Worksheet for payment and banking information.

7.     Review State Information Worksheet for payment and banking information.

** If the election checkboxes are marked "NO" and OR your banking information is not displayed on the Information Worksheet, then the direct debit was not successful. 

If you did not set up your payment through TurboTax, visit  www.irs.gov/Payments  and the state link above to choose from their payment options.

Looks like the Routing/Account info was only applied to my Rhode Island tax return since my refund was delivered... however, the same routing info for my payments was not captured as expected on my Fed and Mass. payments.  When I completed the return, it said the payments would be wired out.  I now have to send these payments myself (late).  Confused why this didn't work as expected.
