Why did my fed. taxes i owe, get deducted from my state i get refund on? I chose to have amt. due deducted from checking acct 4/11/18. They taking it out x2??

I did not have an option at the time of filing to have the amount owed to Federal taking out of my refund from State. The only option I had was to choose a way to pay it either immediately or post date it. Now, my refund shows it has already been deducted? And I have already set up a payment for April? What does that mean?

You are probably just confusing the displays showing NET...that is an info only screen showing the "Effective result"

1) It is not possible for anyone to direct a State refund to pay Fed taxes owed.
2)  It is not possible for anyone to direct a Federal Refund to State taxes owed.
