Why did I receive a letter from both Federal and State IRS departments claiming that neither received enough information and needed copies of everything?

No one here would know why.  We cannot see your account or your return.  We have no way to know if you entered everything you should have entered, or if the problem lies with an employer who did not submit the information.  TurboTax does not receive any information from the IRS or your state after you file your tax return.  It sounds like you got letters from both of them.  What do the letters say?

Thanks for the response. Both letters stated that they needed copies of my W-2s (I had a handful because of hopping around to jobs in a new area), my driver's license and/or passport. They also needed any and all 1099s. They stated there was not enough information. Both returns were completed and accepted in February. The state's letter claimed it was not an audit.

The IRS and state can require more information or request copies of documents you used to prepare your tax returns.  Provide them with the information they are asking for so that you can receive your refunds.
