Why am i paying in and not getting money back?

Taxpayer do owe taxes. Unless you have tax credits and very minimal income, you do owe some taxes. 

This year, the IRS withholding tables were changed so that less withholdings were taken from wages toward taxes.

For this reason, taxpayers this year are seeing smaller refunds or no refund at all.
