Why am I not receiving the money for having a child on my taxes?

I had my child in November an it said I was eligible for this money but it was not given to me.

Make sure that you said your child lived with you the whole year so that you get the personal exemption of $4050 to lower your taxable income (it is not a refund) and any child-related credits that you qualify for.
