@User2222 - once you file, everything is out of TT's hands and is dependent on the IRS processing.
did you check the where's my refund tool at the IRS website?
did you efile or paper file? and if you paper filed, what month did that occur?
Oh thank you for responding. I live abroad, in fact (in France), and for the last three years have filled using the turbotax website service (before that, I admit, I was rather negligent... ). "where's my refund tool"? I'll go look for the IRS website, but I don't feel too confident!
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2021 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

OR——if you filed by mail, expect a long wait. It is taking the very backlogged IRS six to nine months to process mailed returns. Until a human opens your envelope and enters the data into the system, nothing will even show up on the refund site, so you will have to be very patient.
Thank you again for this reply... it seems long and detailed. I haven't had time to give it the attention necessary, but I most definitely will... it could even mean money to me (though I do have my doubts!)! I'll come back here when I've cliqued on all those links and done what you advise
it takes about three minutes ( max ) to check your Refund status on
if you expect a refund.
You're right, it didn't take anytime at all before I came to a dead-end! In fact, this all started because I saw that on the Turbo Tax website, they claimed to have gotten me a refund with a very precise amount! In actual fact, I'm not eligible for a tax refund, but possibly a missed "economic impact payment". I had ticked the appropriate boxes for that when I filed on line on this website at the beginning of this year.
Oh well?! I mentioned in a previous post that I live abroad, and consider myself lucky to have benefited at least from two of them! Thanks...
