If you're having an economic hardship, I've included below how to contact the IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service for assistance. But here are some things to check first:
First, if you efiled, be sure your efiled return was accepted. If using Online TurboTax, you can check at the Tax Home page. Does it show as accepted, rejected, printed, started, ready to mail, or something else?
If that showed your return was accepted for processing, you can track your Federal refund at the IRS "Where's My Refund" tool. Is there any message there?
NOTE: If you filed by mail, it can take 4 weeks just to show up in that tool.
The IRS normally uses 3 stages in that tracker tool:
If that tool shows your refund is still being processed, and since it's been longer than the usual 21 days, you can phone the IRS, if you wish, to see if they can tell you anything about the delay.
IRS: 800-829-1040 (7AM-7 PM local time) Monday-Friday
Depending on what you find out at the IRS, if you're having an economic hardship, you may wish to contact your IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service. They are especially prone to help if you are having a hardship. You can get the contact info for your particular state through the links below. There is also a national number, but it's best to go through your state's branch.

Once your return is filed, TurboTax has no control over the processing or the timing when the IRS releases your refund.
Your refund could be offset. The IRS and State Governments have the ability to offset a refund to pay for certain past due debts. You generally will receive a letter stating what the offset was for.
The IRS provides a toll-free number, (800) 304-3107, to call for information about tax offsets.
Here are a few FAQs to help you track your refund:
When will I get my federal tax refund?
How do I track my state refund?
Why does Where's My Refund say "approved" but TurboTax still says "accepted"?
Why do some refunds take longer than others?
What if my IRS refund is taking longer than 21 days?
