Where is My 2021 tax data that disappeared on the last Turbotax update?

When I updated turbotax today, my 2021 tax data disappeared.

You have selected the after you file forum. Just so that we are on the same page, have you already filed your 2021 return?

Thank you for responding.  No, I had a draft of the return Feb 8 that I planned to review.  I did not already file.

However, after I wrote to you, I decided to go on a mission.  Turbotax did not recognize me at all.  But I located the the Feb 8 turbotax file that I drafted.   I carefully entered enough data to be sure the file I found was going to work.  It did work.  I am happy but perplexed on how Turbotax did not recognize me.  I am sure you have more important things to do.  So please just consider this case closed.

Curious, when you found the Feb 8 Turbo Tax draft data, we it within the same account you ended up using to file?

Just to clarify, I have not filed my return yet. I prepared a draft that I need to carefully review.  I plan to file by mail today.  Normally I efile but I have lost my comfort with this. 

The Feb 8 files had a special character at the beginning of the file name ~ or ~~  The files work and when I started Turbotax by clicking on the ~ or ~~ prefix on the file name I was happily startled that the files worked.

Reconsider efiling ... mailed in returns have a processing time of more than 6 months or much longer and they have data input operator error rates higher than 25%.
