When will I recieve my other half of taxes

@ejplascencia please explain more.  While the IRS will send a letter in a few weeks, for most every post on these boards where the refund was adjusted, it has to do with the Child Care Credit or the Recovery Rebate Credit.

1) what was the EXACT amount that the IRS adjusted your taxes by

2) what is on Line 28 of your FOrm 1040?

3) what is on Line 30 of your form 1040?

if you post back the answers, we can probably figure out what happened

Turbo tax federal file was accepted and amount was 3240, I have only received 1,808. Line 28 on my form is blank. Line 30 is 1,400.

@ejplascencia - the problem is the stimulus / recovery rebate

1) did you receive the $1400 for the 3rd stimulus last spring? if yes, then Line 30 should be zero as you are entitled to either the stimulus or the Recovery Rebate, but not both.  There was a point in the Turbo Tax interview process where you were asked how much you received.  I suspect you entered zero which caused $1400 to appear on Line 30.  The IRS records are that they sent it, so the IRS adjusted your tax return.

2) if you did NOT receive the $1400, the problem is the IRS records are that they sent it.  In that case, call 800-919-9835 and request the IRS trace what happened to the $1400.  This is an automated line, so don't worry about long hold times.
