The IRS issues most refunds from e-filed returns in about 21 days, although some returns take more time to review.
To find out where your refund is, first check your e-file status. If it's been accepted, you can begin to track your refund at the IRS Where's My Refund? site. You'll need your Social Security number or ITIN, filing status, and the exact amount of your refund to check your status
I'm still waiting on 2019 refund as well. When I go to Where's my refund, it just says processing on both 2019 and 2020. I filed this year before the date they started processing, so it has been 21 days.
Any missing stimulus payments will be included on you 2020 tax, not your 2019 return.
Last year's stimulus payments were advanced payments for 2020. Since the IRS did not have 2020 information when it sent out payments, it used 2018 and 2019 tax information.
The 2020 tax return included a section to tell the IRS how much stimulus you received. The missing stimulus is supposed to be added to your 2020 refund as a Recovery Rebate Credit.
It's possible your 2019 and 2020 returns are being held up because you made a mistake with the stimulus. The IRS said it will fix stimulus mistakes, but the process will delay your return.
You can call the IRS at 1-800-829-1040 and ask them to research your refund since if has been more than 21 days since your tax return was accepted.
