When amending my return, turbo tax is adding the incorrect original amount. How do i fix the original amounts?

Did you make any changes BEFORE starting the amendment process ?   When you look at the form 1040X is the amounts in column A the same as on the originally filed return ?

I have this problem. i had changed nothing on my state form when I started working on an amended state form, but turbo tax immediately said i received a refund and now owe that amount with my amended state form. The change i made when amending my Fed form has no bearing on whether i got a state refund on my original state form. I  did not get or expect a refund! I applied an overpayment to future taxes, but those amounts aren't even similar.

Turbo tax pulled a strange number out of nowhere and I can't change it. Which means i can't file an amended state return!
