Has anyone encountered this situation when filing 2020 taxes.
I could not transfer the 2019 return to 2020 since my brother lost his return information. The secret question was incorrect as well. I had to enter in all his information for 2020 since nothing rolled over from 2019. We used his AGI to transmit his return. The return was rejected at IRS. The error code had to do with the AGI being incorrect. I went back into TT and it said his file was corrupted. I deleted the corrupt file and reentered all his information again for 2020. I printed a copy of his tax returns and again transmitted them. I received the rejection email again. IRS rejected both returns. I went back to look at the returns and again the files were corrupted.
Has anyone experienced this and why does this happen?
