The easiest way is to call the IRS (800-829-1040), but this time of year you may spend a lot of time waiting on the phone. You can also fill out Form 8822 and mail it to the IRS. Also, make sure that you fill out a change of address with the Post Office. The IRS also does update its records using Postal information and this way the post office will forward any mail to your new address. Amended returns can take up to 16 weeks to process, so you have plenty of time to make sure your address gets changed.
