What happens if I prefiled my return and didn't receive the 1400 for my child born in 2021? I qualify. Does the IRS automatically fix it or do I need to amend?

I got 5400 as my return. 1800 for my 3 year old, and 3600 for my baby born in 2021. But it doesn't show the 1400 rebate credit. What do I do?

Please clarify. Do you mean you didn't receive a $1,400 advance on your newborn's CTC during 2021, or is this a separate $1,400 from the $3,600 you say you got on your return? The IRS may OR may not be able to fix that during refund processing, depending on the specifics of your situation.

If your "prefiled" return has already been transmitted to AND accepted by the IRS, either way you'll probably have to wait for the IRS to finish processing that return and issue your refund, as well as for TurboTax to launch amended 2021 returns (not yet available). If your refund is the wrong amount, you can amend once both of those happen; but expect a long wait after filing the amended return (at least 4 months even in normal circumstances, probably even longer this year as the IRS is short-staffed).

Do you mean that you did not receive the third stimulus payment for the newborn?  if so, the newborn would qualify.  See this IRS FAQ (emphasis added):

Is a child born, adopted, or placed into my foster care in 2021 a qualifying dependent for the third...

No, the third economic impact payment in 2021 will not include an additional amount for these children because the third round of payments is based on information from your 2020 or 2019 tax return. If the child is your dependent in 2021, you may claim a 2021 Recovery Rebate Credit for the child, if you’re eligible for the credit, on your 2021 tax return that you will file in 2022.

To claim a person as a dependent on your tax return, that person must be your qualifying child or qualifying relative. See Whom May I Claim as a Dependent? to determine if you can claim someone as a dependent.

I agree with RBBrittain.  We do not know whether the IRS will correct your tax return or whether an amended tax return will be required.
