What e-file acceptance information is available?

I received my TurboTax Business e-file acceptance on 31-Mar-2026. I received a notice from the IRS dated 20-April-2026 that my return was delinquent and am assessed a penalty. Since I am confident that this information comes through some type of EDI feed, I am sure it is date and time stamped and that there is a reference number. How can I find this information?

What kind of business tax return did you file? For a partnership (Form 1065) or an S corporation (Form 1120-S) the due date was March 16, not April 15.

Is it possible that you were filing an S-Corp tax return? If yes, then the due date for S-Corp tax returns is 03/15.

However, you can give TurboTax a call, and customer service will be able to look up the DCN/MeF Submission ID that you can provide to the IRS for tracing a timely filed return.
