Thank you for responding. I have already reached out to Turbotax several times and unfortunately have received zero help. I'm not sure what to do at this point. I'd really like the money I paid turbotax refunded so I can pay someone else to do my taxes correctly.
You can file an amendment after your submitted return has been processed by the IRS. See this FAQ on How to amend a return.
Thank you. Yes, I understand I can file an amended return, when the IRS will allow, in over a month. This doesn't change the fact that I will experience a months long delay in receiving my refund due to a TurboTax system error. I can't begin to describe my disappointment in the company. Paying for a service that wasn't provided properly is just wrong.
We completely understand your frustration; with that said, once your return has been filed and accepted, the only way to make any changes is to file an amendment as recommended in the previous responses. With the errors that you are referencing, did this result in you not receiving a refund? or was it less than anticipated?
Thank you for your response. I received an $8 refund instead of $1408. The turbotax (auto filled) errors entered into my income made it so I no longer appear qualified for the refund actually due. One of the people I spoke with from turbotax already admitted that additional forms were generated and submitted in error. The auto filled income information made my income appear too high to be eligible for the 1 stimulus payment I received and the IRS took it from my refund. It is beyond unfair that I now have to wait months to correct and receive my refund. I paid turbotax nearly $100 to process my taxes incorrectly and receive only $8. What happened to the guarantee of taxes done right?
Perhaps TurboTax left in numbers on forms that were imported from your last tax return. ?
All those amounts should have been zero-ed out.
What form and line number had an amount that you did not want and was incorrect?

Always print a copy of your completed tax return for your records, and review it carefully before e-Filing.
You will need it if you are audited by the IRS, or to amend if a TurboTax update changes your return or for any other reason,
AND, to find your AGI next year.
Let's back up. Did you have the 1,400 Stimulus on your return line 30? If you already had got it then line 30 should be blank. Sounds like you tried to claim it again. The IRS knows they already sent it to you. This has nothing to do with your income being wrong or too high. Even if your income was too high you don't need to pay the 1,400 back.
No, I didn't try to claim the stimulus payment again. I filled out everything correctly. Again, turbotax auto filled income amounts from the instructions on the actual tax form. At this point it's time for me to contact the BBB. If I thought it would do any good at all I'd contact Turbotax corporate.
If your AGI is too high, you can't get EIP3, and TurboTax would not try to claim EIP3 for you.
