That sounds like a mix up over a $600 stimulus check.
Did you enter ALL of the stimulus money that you had already received correctly in the recovery rebate credit section when you prepared your 2020 return? The IRS cross checks and if you did not enter all of the money you received, they recalculate your refund.
Sound like the difference could be a stimulus payment that (a) the IRS records show you were already sent, or (b) you didn't qualify for; but that you filed for via the Recovery Rebate Credit. Or the IRS made some other adjustment and/or offset. The IRS will be sending you a letter. They do not notify TT.
