If you sold the lot during 2017, the transaction will need to be reported for Tax Year 2017 as well. You cannot add it to next year's Tax Return.
If your Tax Return has already been e-filed and accepted by the IRS, you will need to wait until it has been fully processed and you have either received your refund or your payment has cleared.
Once your original return has been fully processed, you will need to Amend it by filing Form 1040-X.
