Request for refunds should be directed  to TT Support. https://turbotax.intuit.com/support/contact/  use the term “billing issues” in the question box, not "Refund" or it will just give you the IRS phone number to check your refund status. Week days 5 AM - 5 PM Pacific time

Should I pay for turbotax for not filing my tax return? E-filling didn't work for my 2017 and 2018 returns. For 2017, I found that it got failed much later. Recently I had to print out and mailed them to IRS with extra costs (international mailing). Turbotax didn't explain the reasons for failing e-file clearly. After all I paid for turbo tax, now I have to work with IRS offline and pay for all extra costs for mailing and penalties for delay.

When you e-file a tax return, you get back an email that tells you if the e-file was accepted or rejected.  If the e-file was rejected then there is a rejection code or rejection message telling you why it was rejected.  It is your responsibility to pay attention to that and act accordingly at the time.   TurboTax provides software for a do-it-yourself tax return.  If you did not follow up to be sure that your tax return was filed, that is a user error.  If you are getting a tax refund, you have three years to file the return and still receive the refund, and there are no penalties for filing late.  If you owed tax due, then it is up to you to pay attention to your own bank account or credit card account to be sure the tax was paid.

Also the fee is for the use of the program to complete a return that can be filed ... at no time was a successful efile guaranteed since TT has no control over the fed or state accepting your return. At the end, right before you efile, you have to confirm a working email account (hence the code) so you can receive the notices ... the screen even tells you to watch for them. As stated before, when you use a DIY program you are the responsible party.

Yes, this is app is terrible. 2 years in a row that they have decided last minute they need 80 dollars from me, while telling me it's free prior the entire time. Can't even get a refund smoothly, the order number is apparently an impossible number to find. Intuit sucks!
