I e-filed a desk TurboTax 2022 1040 return. It was processed and I've received a refund. I opened the return and created an amended 2022 return. When I went to e-file the amended return, TurboTax states "it looks like you haven't e-filed the 1040 through TurboTax". But I had. Is there a way around this? Any ideas on why this error showed up? I'd prefer not to print out the 26 pages to mail in the 1040-X.

First check the filing status inside the program. Open your return and go up to the top black menu bar first item
File > Electronic Filing > Check Electronic Filing Status
Then save your return and close it. Close the program and reopen it.
You may need to update the program first. I just saw a post that said the Desktop status issue was fixed so it shows accepted now. Go to menu Online- Check for updates.
Thanks for the quick reply. I started over by opening my original return, I checked the filing status then I saved and exited. I then repeated the whole process of submitting an amended return and e-filed it successfully. I'm not sure if I had attempted the amended return correctly the first time or if the "check status, save and exit" was the answer. Things looked different the second time around. Either way, it worked. Much appreciated.
