Used TurboTax, amended 2017 & will pay back some on state refund. Ready to file 2018 return. Can I create 2018 return off Amended 2017? Both will be mailed together.

I amended the 2017 tax return then imported it into 2018 tax return.  I'm planning on mailing them both at the same time.  Would it be better to complete the 2018 without the amended 2017 version, then wait to amend 2018 once amended 2017 clears?

The amended 2017 return will take about 16 weeks to process, so waiting to file 2018 will hurt you if you owe 2018 taxes.

But do not mail them in the same envelope if you file both now.
