I filed today and realized I missed adding a W2 (company changed hands and mistakenly didn't realize I'd be getting two from that job). The federal return was accepted and the state was rejected due to a software error TurboTax says will be fixed on the 27th.
I do not yet see an option to amend the federal return. Should I update the documents prior to refiling for state (assuming TurboTax will attempt to refile federal as well since there doesn't seem to be an option to choose) or should I efile the state as is, wait for both refunds, and then amend both federal and state?

If your return was rejected and never filed, you can update the return prior to refiling the return.

Thanks for the response! The state return was rejected. The federal was accepted. My concern is that if I add the missing W2 to my wages section and file the correct state that it will screw up the info in the software when I go back in to amend the federal.
@HandoffBarry You will need to amend your federal tax return, then you can resubmit your state tax return.
Here is the link to the instructions to amend your federal return.
