I somehow lost the original .tax file and only have the pdf file. I need the .tax file to file an amendment. How do I get the .tax file?

I need to amend my 2016 return; however, I could not locate my original .tax turbotax file. All I have is the .pdf file. Is there a way I can access the .tax file?

Unfortunately, only if you have a saved copy of the file; otherwise, you need to reenter the data from your pdf into the TurboTax software program.
