Under Tax Tools there is nooption to save my 2025 tax return.tax file for turbo tax desktop.

I want to download my 2025 .tax file to continue my return in TurboTax Desktop I am following these instructions: Sign in to your TurboTax Online account. Select Start or Continue on Tax Home to enter your return. Select Tax Tools and then Tools from the left menu. In the Tools Center pop-up, select Save your 2025 return to your computer. The file will download with the name taxReturn.tax2025. However, there is no option for saving .tax file to Computer for use with Turbotax Desktop

Have you installed the Desktop program?  There is a new way to try.  Open the Desktop program and start a new return.  There should be a button to Continue from Online.

The downloaded file named taxReturn.tax2025 IS the file that you can open with TurboTax Desktop.
