Turbotax online thinks I have added a form 892 (cancellation of debt). I have had no debts cancelled. How do I fix this? Thanks.

Have you tried deleting the form 982 and any underlying 1099-C forms?

Here's how to delete forms in TurboTax Online:

1.    Open your return, if it's not already open.

2.    In the lower left click on Tax Tools.

3.    Select   Delete a form.

4.    Click Delete next to the form or schedule and follow the instructions to remove the form/schedule.

Thank you. Apparently neither Form 982 nor Schedule-C were actually added. So I assume the problem is with the review process. This is worrisome because Turbotax suggests that I will have an increased audit risk.

Ignore the "Scare-O-Meter" that is there just to con you into buying the Audit Protection ... no one can tell you if you will be audited since a portion are done randomly every year ... so if you file a true & accurate return then you have nothing to fear from the IRS.

And the form is a 1099-C that would have caused the form 982 to populate not the Sch C...  if you remove both then you should be OK.
