Provide some details. The fact is, a lot of people made mistakes on their 2021 tax returns and received reduced refunds when the IRS checked and caught their mistakes. Was your refund reduced as a result of a mistake related to the child tax credit or the recovery rebate credit? Did the IRS send you a letter to explain what they changed?

Or did you have something else that went wrong on the 2021 return?
