Form 8283 for 2025 not available until Feb 6 2026 so I am confused why Turbotax Business 2025 says I need to file it. Form 8283 does not currently show up (even as "not ready") in the forms list.
I have NO charitable contributions this year, last year, or ever, through the business so this form should not be needed at all.
How can I get around this error/bug that is preventing me from filing my return?
Do I just need to wait until Turbotax Business 2025 adds this form to my return in February and then remove it from the forms list? It's a bit confusing that there are no errors found in my return and TurboTax Business appeared happy to file the return.
I am worried that even after removing 8283 once TurboTax adds it may not solve the problem and Turbotax might still tell me I need to file it when it does not apply (but Turbotax is preventing me from filling).
Please advise,

If you are sure you don't need this form, you can delete it.
If you are using:
Always use extreme caution when deleting information from your tax return. There could be unintended consequences.
Thank you for your reply.
However, as I thought I mentioned, this form 8283 is NOT in my forms list so there is nothing to delete.
Yet, TurboTax Business 2025 says I need it -- even though I made NO charitable contributions.
Still not sure what to do to get around this...cannot file my return currently.
Thanks,
If Form 8283 is not appearing in the Forms list on the left-hand side of Forms Mode, the error is being triggered by a "ghost" entry on a supporting worksheet or a data field in the interview that has not yet generated the formal government form.
In TurboTax Business Desktop, you must clear the underlying worksheet that feeds into Form 8283 to resolve the filing block.
The IRS requires Form 8283 when noncash donations exceed $500. If you haven't made any, a $0 or a stray character on a worksheet is the likely culprit.
There is no Charitable Contributions Worksheet.
Searching for "Charitable Contributions", Turbotax finds nothing except giving me the option to add new form 8283. I tried that, noted all was empty and tried to submit the taxes again. Still did not work. Then, tried to delete that 8283 I just added (finally, something to delete!). Same result when trying to submit taxes. No-go.
Searching the entire tax return PDF (with all schedules and worksheets) for "Charitable" finds blank fields for Schedule K. for cash and non-cash.
When doing this return, I did have to import QB Data twice. The return looks perfect, however, except that it's currently fileable-proof.
Should I try to re-do the Business Return from scratch (brand new file) and see if that helps? I have nothing but hours to donate to Inuit's software issues. :( This one issue has already cost me three hours.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks,
Let's try a couple other things. Let's look specifically at the Schedule K. The program may be flagging a contribution that was imported or entered at the entity level.
If the forms are clear but the error persists during the Review phase, try this:
Finally, if you still cannot proceed, ensure the software is fully updated for the 2025 Tax Year. Occasionally, filing blocks for specific forms occur if the IRS has not yet finalized the electronic filing schema for that form. Go to the Online menu at the top and select Check for Updates.
Hoping this solves it.
Turbotax Business 2025 is messed up.
On the e-File forms workflow, it asks for me to sign an 8822-B, but then displays the 8453. It did the same thing with the 8283 which should not be in the mix at all in the first place. There are no charitable contributions. Nonetheless, it asks you "Let's get a signed copy of the 8822-B but then shows the 8283 on the next screen. That's totally a bug. Even the displayed workflow is wrong.
Again, there is no 8283 form anywhere in TurboTax Business 2025. There are no charitable contributions. If I search the entire tax return PDF (all worksheets) for "charitable" there are no entries.
At this point, I will wait until February 6th and see once the 8283 form is actually available if that somehow solves the problem. I'm not hopeful given this glaring bug.
I'll probably need to start over, from scratch, and hope that will work. I would do that today if I had any confidence it would work.
This is the first time I've ever had such a glaring issue with TurboTax.
I totally appreciate all your terrific help and kind replies. You were extremely helpful in helping me try every possibility.
Thank you!
Schedule K is empty for contributions -- both cash and non-cash.
I've never made a contribution.
Thanks
I just completed my taxes and Turbotax reviewed and said everything was perfect so I submitted. I now have an error message back that says the return was rejected because no 8283 was included. Huh? I entered a bunch of both cash and non cash donations and a number of them exceeded the $500 baseline requirement for the form. How in the world could it not include a clearly required form and at the same time tell me the return is correct and ready to submit?? Now Turbotax says "We'll help you fix it" after 31 Jan. I am not happy...
I am in the same boat. My donation was over $500 and I listed them. The review found no errors and I have filed both Federal and State. Both were rejected stating form 8283 is missing. And received the message that to fix by turbotax, need wait until Jan 31 and try again.
I don't think that form will be available until Feb 6th.
But, if you search in your forms for "Charitable" you may see a way to add that form. Again, I'd wait until the form is officially available, but I am not an accountant and I _only_ use TurboTax because I have no other realistic options.
Since, in my case, I had made no contributions, and there was no way to get TurboTax Business 2025 to "understand" this, I had to start over from scratch with my return. Starting from scratch worked for me and I can wait another year to have the next round of problems with this product.
Hope this helps.

My form 8283 showed up after i ran this morning's "Desktop" Software update (29 January)
(but I'm running Windows Premier...don't know if MACs or "Business" software has it)
______________
After updating, I did visit/edit my Charity which required the form 8283 and stepped thru it first (didn't change anything). Did that before looking to see if the form 8283 was there. So I don't know if it was there just before or not.

I have no idea if the overnight update put the form 8283 there in the "Online" software or not, so those folks should first download a PDF of their "filing" copy to see if it's there.
Thanks, Oliver. This is helpful. Best regards.
Oh great. I will try to rerun it and see software update fixes it. Thanks for the info. Best regards.

Dear All:
After updating the turbotax software, I resubmit both Federal and State taxes. This time both were successful.
So the updates did the trick.
Thanks everyone.
Best regards.
