@princezmich

TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.  “21 days”  is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.

First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2023 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

https://www.irs.gov/refunds

To track your state refund:

https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1901548-why-do-some-refunds-take-longer-than-others

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

If you are getting earned income credit on line 27 or additional child tax credit on line 28 You are subject to the delay required by the PATH act.  Do not expect your refund earlier than late February.

Turbo tax shows accepted and refund in next couple days, irs shows hasn't accepted. Why is this

I know it's an estimated date, my issue is why turbo tax shows accepted. Yet when I go on irs hasn't been accepted.

No fees from turbo tax need to be deducted.

My taxes were super simple 1 income no child deduction.

You haven't said yet what the IRS WMR website is telling you.   The IRS does not use the term "accepted"  in the WMR tool.   "Accepted" is a term used solely for efiling as a notification to you that the IRS has received your return, and they agree it is in the proper format so that they can begin processing it; i.e., accepted for processing.   If your efiled return was accepted, then TurboTax will always show it as accepted any time you look at the Tax Home now and in the future; it doesn't get any feedback from the IRS.

Initially, after an efile is accepted for processing, the IRS WMR website will say it has been "received" or "processing."   When processing is complete, it will say "approved" (unless they need more info from you.)   Finally, it will say "sent" and provide an expected deposit date.

If the IRS WMR tool says your return is still "processing", they are still working on it.   In that case, only the IRS would know what all they are doing with your return.

Or is the IRS WMR tool not finding any evidence of your return at all, i.e., does it say "not found?"   If that's the case, we can tell you more about things to do.
