If you are using the TurboTax online editions all your information is saved as it is being entered.
You may need to explain more about what you want to do. If you're simply asking how to exit Online TurboTax and save your work, then know that TurboTax automatically saves your work after every screen. To exit, you can to go the left menu column and scroll down and click on Sign Out.
Thanks for the replies.
The help menu describes how to save the working file but that (Tools) does not work so is incorrect.
I have used TT for over a decade and ALWAYS saved my working file on my desktop. I do not like storing my personal TT file on a file in the cloud -somewhere? Where? Why is this now different? This also bring in all sorts of security questions. Who has my file, who has access, how is it protected, etc????
I am not Happy.
@broton If you are using one of the TurboTax online web based editions then the information is saved as it is entered.
If you are using one of the TurboTax desktop editions where you installed the software on your personal computer, click on File at the top left of the desktop program screen. Click on Save or Save as... and the tax data file will be saved on your computer, by default, then TurboTax folder on the Documents directory.
