TPG Products took $60 of my refund

How do I get back the $60 TPG Products took out of my refund?

I paid for TurboTax and downloaded the Federal and State Return software.  But then the deposit was minus $60.

How do I get that back?  I paid full price for the product.

I have used TurboTax for 40 years and never recall this charge.  And don't even know what the charge is for?  Or why they were involved in my deposit?

In the Desktop program it is $20 to efile state.  Then if you want the fee deducted from your federal refund there is an Extra $40 Refund Processing Service charge (45 in California) .  Which you could have avoided by paying the $20 upfront with a credit card. 20+40=60.  It's been that way for years.  Or you can print and mail state for free.

This is literally ridiculous.  $20 to e-file state.  Fine.  Pay it.  The $40 is nonsensical.

In the past I have printed and mailed my State.  I will do it again next year and going forward.

$60 cost is enough to change software.

The $20 state cost I was willing to bite on.  But the $40 for a fed deduction makes zero sense.  ESPEC when you do the STANDARD DEDUCTION!!!!!!!

Yes.  You have to be careful when paying the state efile fee.  Try to pay it with a credit card or it will also charge you an Extra $40 Refund Processing Service charge (45 in California) to have it deducted from a federal refund.  So pay attention and go slow and read the screens and watch what you click on.   There is one screen that can trip you up.

I believe the TurboTax Company should pay me the $40 back that was taken from my refund.  Then they should work on re-writing that program logic.  This was very shady & not what I expect after using their product since the mid-1980's.
