Why did turbo tax tell me to expect my tax returns on February 5th, if the IRS doesn't open until January 28th? Should I expect my returns 21 days from IRS tax day?

My taxes say accepted January 15th.

Every year the IRS does take some tax returns early as part of a test batch. To find out the actual day the IRS is going to issue you a refund, please go to www.irs.gov/refunds. The date you see within TurboTax Refund Tracker is a projected estimated date range on when you can expect your refund based on other TurboTax customers who have already received their refunds. The most accurate and up to date information will be found on the IRS website. As you said most refunds are disbursed within 21 days from the date they are accepted. However, if you claimed the EIC or Additional Child Tax Credit, the IRS will begin issuing tax refunds on these returns on February 27, 2019 per the rules of the PATH act. If this applies to you, you may not see an update until late February. For more information on the PATH act and tracking your refund, please see the TurboTax FAQs below.

The 'Where's My Refund Tool' does not have my information. Says, "Please wait 24 hours after taxes are accepted"

Also, you can check your efile status by going to: https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/ef...> to confirm that your return has in fact been efiled.

Line 20a was submitted, with correct filing status.
Should I assume, my taxes have not been approved yet?

Yes, additionally, if you filed for EIC or ACTC, keep in mind that those returns will not begin being disbursed until 2/27. Continue tracking on www.irs.gov/refunds and a direct deposit date will be shown once available.
