The IRS says my return was electronically deposited to my bank but my bank says they never got it. The routing numbers are correct. What should I do?

It's been more than a month. I called the IRS and they said they can't answer the question and to either call my bank which I did or my tax preparer. Turbotax has not been helpful at all and I have yet to be able to speak to a person.

Did you choose for your Federal refund to be sent electronically directly from the IRS to your bank account, or did you happen to choose the option to pay any TurboTax fees out of your Federal refund first?

 

Addendum:

Oops, I just now noticed you are using Free Edition.  Is that correct?   Did you have any fees such as PLUS?  If you had no fees at all, then my question above will not apply.

Did you chose to have your  TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund?  If so, the refund went to a third party bank.  Try contacting the third party bank:

 

Your tax refund was not sent to TurboTax.   TurboTax does not handle your refund at all.

Santa Barbara Tax Products Group, LLC  (SBTPG) is the bank that handles the Refund Processing Service when you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your refund. This option also has an additional charge from the bank that processes the transaction.

I was using the free version so no fees were taken out but I appreciate the reply.

Unfortunately, TurboTax cannot help with this.  TurboTax never knows if or when your refund was issued; the IRS does not provide any information to TurboTax after you file your tax return.  TurboTax cannot legally intercede with the IRS on your behalf.  You will need to contact the IRS to request a trace on your refund check and ask them to replace the check.

Couple of ideas ... first the account must be in your name as the primary holder or it will be rejected.  And check with your bank ... the routing numbers on the check may not be the correct one to use for an ACH deposit.
