Taxes were finalized, but not yet mailed in. Do I still need to file an amended form?

taxes were finalized, but realized that the w2 info was removed or omitted.  Somehow its no longer there.  the forms were never mailed and the file just needs to be corrected and re-finalized.

Is an amended for the only solution, or can the current 2018 file be 'un-finalized'?

You can make changes to your tax return in TurboTax as long as you have not filed(e-filed or mailed) your taxes

If you don't see the toolbar, scroll to the bottom of the Home page, click Add a State(you're not actually adding a state, this just gets you into the right menu)  and then over to the left you should see the toolbar. To makes changes or to add a W2, click the Federal section. Once changes are complete, navigate all the way thru the interview questions until you reach the File tab. On the File tab, you can choose between file by mail or e-file to submit your taxes. When you press the e-file button or place the return in the mail, you cannot make changes in TurboTax. You will have to do an amendment.
