I filed my taxes on January 28th 2022 and the return got accepted on January 31st 2022 for $3124. I received only a partial amount of that said return on March 2nd which was only $1700 and received no reason as to why turbo tax had adjusted the original amount. I called the IRS support number and the turbo tax support number with no luck as to why my refund was deducted over $1400. I turned to calling the IRS offsets number and I have 0 offsets against me so there should be no reason I’m not getting the full $3124 especially with no warning before hand. Please help me I’m a college Student who was shorted $1400 with no explanation.

First, have you checked the IRS' Where's My Refund website? It may have information about a correction or an offset. For more details on why your refund could be less than expected, please see this Help Article.
If you have verified it is not any of the above scenarios and you utilized the Pay with My Refund method, please reach out to our third-party processor, SBTPG. You can do this at their Help page. You can call using the numbers listed, or you can scroll down on the page and click Submit A Request. On this public forum, we do not have detailed information about refund processing.
$1,400 is the amount of the 3rd Stimulus payment. Did you already get the Stimulus payment they sent out last year starting March 2021? Do you have 1,400 on 1040 line 30? You might have tried to claim it again. Line 30 is only if you didn't get the full amount or qualify for more.
Did you get IRS letter 6475 saying what they sent you? If you didn't get the IRS letter 6475 saying what they sent you then check your bank statements and check your IRS account to see when and what they sent you.

Or if you are a dependent you do not qualify for the 1400 Recovery Rebate Credit on line 30. Did your parents claim you as a dependent?
I never received the stimulus for $1400 starting March 2021, I filed the stimulus into my taxes this taxing season and that’s what I didn’t receive. I filed as independent and have 0 student loans. I called the IRS offsets support number and they said to me that I have 0 offsets on my taxes this tax year. I checked my IRS account to see if I can get any further information and I had 0 offsets on there as well.
