Remember that the “”5 day early” date is based on the date given to you on the IRS refund site—-not the date the TT site shows in your account.   If your refund does not come in five days ahead of the IRS date, they are supposed to cancel the $25 fee.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

Watch your own bank account.

Up to 5 Days Early delivers our customer’s refund up to 5 days before the IRS is able to deliver funds to their bank account. For example, if the IRS indicates that a customer’s refund will arrive in their account in 15 days from the date your tax return was accepted, our Up to 5 Days Early service gets their refund to their account within 10-14 days.

Customers can get their refund deposited in their own bank account for a fee deducted from their tax refund. The receipt of their refund up to 5 Days Early is subject to IRS submitting refund information before the refund settlement date. The IRS doesn't always provide refund settlement information early.

For most filers, the IRS delivers a refund within 21 days if they selected direct deposit as their refund method.

Once the IRS approves their refund, TurboTax is notified and we’ll attempt to transfer their refund to their bank account. TurboTax sends the customer an email letting them know if we were able to successfully deliver their refund up to 5 days early, or if we were unable to expedite their refund. If we were successfully able to deliver their refund up to 5 days early, they can expect to see their refund in their bank account the same day they received an email from us.

If we were unable to expedite their refund at least 1 day early before the refund settlement date provided by the IRS, the customer won't be charged for Up to 5 Days Early. The customer will also get an email and see a notice that says “We could not expedite your refund. No early refund fee was charged” as part of their TurboTax refund tracker.
