Still Haven't Received my Federal Refund

I filed my taxes at the start of February, 2022. It is now May5th and I have not received my Federal Refund.

I got my State Return deposited on Feb 22nd, but where is my federal return? I have been to the IRS office, been on their website, called their number, and have even been on the phone with a TurboTax rep, and nobody has been able to help me. 

The IRS told me that my refund was sent to Turbo Tax, but Turbo Tax says they don't get refunds, only the fees. 

Whoever took out the fees and then distributed my refund is who I need to speak with. 

 

I really need help. Currently having some very bad financial issues, and this federal return could give me some breathing room.

Did you have any TurboTax fees that you chose to pay out of the Federal refund?  If so, the funds go first from the IRS to a temporary account at an intermediary bank where the fees are subtracted.   Then that intermediary bank sends the rest of the funds on to your bank (or card.)    That process is handled by a company SBTPG (aka TPG aka Tax Products Group.)

 

If you are sure the IRS has released and sent your funds (check with the IRS "Where's My Refund" tool, or if you spoke to the IRS, and they told you it was sent), you can log in to  SBTPG's refund lookup tool to see the status of your funds.

SBTPG also has a phone contact page at the following link. It also shows their business hours.  Even when they are closed, you may be able to get automated info, or you can log in as above.

Your tax refund was not sent to TurboTax.   TurboTax does not handle your refund at all.

 

Santa Barbara Tax Products Group, LLC  (SBTPG) is the bank that handles the Refund Processing Service when you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your refund. This option also has an additional charge from the bank that processes the transaction.
