Do you have a TurboTax Online account?

We'll help you get started or pick up where you left off.

Someone unknown had filed another tax return through chime taxes and I had recieved an email informing me of this information. What do I do? Now I have 2 filed returns.

I had already signed and submitted my ACTUAL taxes on Turbo Tax. But im afraid I might get audited. I did go ahead and file a fraud report claim form on the irs website informing them of the additional fraudulent tax return in my name.

seemingly this OP filed before you. This will make e-filing for you for 2025 impossible. It will have to be mailed. In situations like this, the IRS sends notices to both parties asking to amend. if the OP doesn't, the IRS sends a second notice asking for info to prove you are who you say you are. It will tell you what documents can be submitted. In this case you will have to respond.

It is also possible the email was misdirected, and had nothing to do with you.

A  number of people mistype their email address every year, and such notifications show up on unrelated folks email accounts.    Of course, if they actually used your name in the email, perhaps it was a fraudulent filing.
