SOLVED: I filed an amended return for 2020 on Turbotax but even after a year later, upon checking the status on "Where's my amended return?" IRS page, no information was found?

The amended return was filed after the initial tax return has been accepted, processed, and completed.

After I filed an amendment successfully, the status  appeared almost immediately there.

By immediately, I mean, about two weeks if filed on paper.

Did you e-File 1040-X and get an ACCEPTED message ?

Yes I did e-file 1040-X, something must of went wrong because I never received an ACCEPTED message. So, for the state it seems that I’m supposed to mail it in, but as for the federal, TurboTax is supposed to e-file and I’m not required to send it by mail, is this correct? This is my first time having to amend my return. Thank you for your reply @fan . Truly appreciate it.

you can no longer e-file 2020 returns or earlier through Turbotax.

If you are amending your 2020 federal tax return, you can do so on TurboTax, but you cannot file it electronically with the IRS. You will need to print and mail it to the designated address shown on the printout.

I didn't see if you said exactly when you amended 2020.  When do you think you filed it?

If you didn't get ACCEPTED, then you  can call IRS to confirm they have nothing from you.

You have to file it on paper since e-File is now closed for last year.

(Some states (not all) accept e-File of amendments for the current year.)
