The amend return area in TurboTax isn't ready yet and won't be fully available until sometime in February. You should have seen the attached screenshot.

Although it will take more effort, I recommend deleting the changes you made when you thought you were amending (adding 1099-K and expenses) and get the tax returns back to their original status showing the refunds you originally filed for. Then, wait to receive the refunds you originally filed for and/or instructions from the IRS and/or state department(s) of revenue on how to proceed because they may also determine you did not report the 1099-K you received yet.

The reason I recommend this approach is primarily because TurboTax calculates your amended tax refunds or taxes owed based on the assumption you already received the refunds you originally filed for (which you haven't received yet). Please review the following TurboTax FAQs for more information:

Did you amend 2016? 2017 amend area isn't ready yet. Also, are you saying you added income and your refund increased? If so, did you also add taxes withheld along with the income?

1. Sign in to TurboTax and select Take me to my return, if necessary.
2. In the upper right corner, type "self employment income" in the Search box and then select the "Jump to" link in the search results.
3. Then, you may either delete the entire "Line of work" by using the trash can icon or select "Edit" on your "Line of work" and delete each income and expense item you added by using the trash can icon.

Did you have a loss on the business? If so, that is why the refund was more. However, you won't know whether you are due more of a refund or owe until the original refunds you filed for are received, etc.

Technically i believe so. I was a contractor for a job called handy so i just did expenses for the supplies and stuff i used but it was no taxes take out. So if my expenses was lower the refund was bigger ? Plus my deductibles idk how this works at all

If your self-employed income was less than your expenses, your self-employed business incurred a loss. A self-employed business loss would decrease your total personal income. If you have less personal income, you owe less taxes thereby increasing your refund.
