So I received my federal refund, but I didn't get my state refund, are they sent separately, like federal refund is sent now and then the state refund sent later?

It said I didn't need to owe any taxes or pay anything since this is my first time filing. But I didn't get my state return only federal

Some states are fairly quick with refunds, while some states can take weeks.  There may be a notice or FAQ on your state's tax website that says about how long it takes in your state.

Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities.  You cannot expect them to arrive at the same time.
